The year is 2070. The COVID-19 virus never did go away. Vaccines were created but mutations evolved. Several more pandemic viruses sprang up. In 50 years the combined death toll for all things related to the virus, economic toll, military actions, indirect health cases and direct deaths, has reduced the global population by 2 billion people.
Tracy is a 20 year old girl in the anti-ers, a group of resisters that split from the formal governments of their time and formed their own “nation”, one without borders or formal structure. Live as you want, die as you ought was their motto. She was born an anti-er and she’ll die an anti-er. That was how it was, the way it ought to be. But she wasn’t like everybody else.
The global government bodies have come up with new technology to help with the spread of diseases of all kinds, according to them it can fight all COVID viruses and much more. Bio-engineered nanotechnology gobbly gook as her dad would say. He doesn’t understand it and don’t need to. He knows government conspiracy when he sees it. He should, he’s a leader of the anti-ers. They study conspiracies like a religion.
But Tracy does understand it. She’s also learned something else, something startling important and personal. Her parents are idiots. Nearly all the anti-ers are idiots. And it’s not just an opinion it’s truth, she has proof. Are her family and millions of families across the globe the product of a global conspiracy? Can she convince her family that they really are idiots? Can she convince anyone that there has been a conspiracy? And what can she do to stop it? She’s going to have to find out and fast. She’s got the virus and she either has to get onto the Nanobioinnoculator program and injected with the new technology within two weeks or she’s faced with possible death.
