The season for giving, a gift to you, freely I give
Upon thy brow from deep within.
A crown, not of thorns, but of pearls around your neck
Glistening in the moonlight and snow. Wet, like dew,
Though drying; the remnants of rivers
Become trails that only snails follow.
Coaxed by thy lips, drawn by thy breath, teased by your tongue
Until I am blown; both mind and body.
Jingled ornaments, jewels of family pride, hung beneath wooden pine.
Open this package, a present for a celebrated night.
Take it in your hand, shake it, hold it up to your eye to spy what is inside.
Explosion of joy, tis the season; a gift I give to you.
Freely, upon this silent night.
