Cupid’s Discarded Bow

Too torn down to look up
Looking into the sun
Blinded by a love who kept you in the shadow
Don't look for salvation at the end of an arrow
Shot from cupid’s discarded bow

Your heart breaks anew every morning
Waking in sheets stained with neglect
A dry spot in a loveless desert
How you wish for the rain to come
To drench your thirsty soul and soak your body

Come home my sweet
An automated message, a single finger push
The only effort he could spare
The cries for mommy the only true tear
That renders the stone in your heart

Hello
Who are you?
Just a vision behind a keyboard you’ve yet to see
So nobody?
Yup, nobody for you
Nice to meet you.
Goodbye.
