Was it worth it? The chance I took Seeing you in a crowded room, back to me When you turned around and the earth shook I knew I had to catch your eye
I travelled through the drunken mass People crowded the room Talking, laughing, drinking Holding me back as though a tomb I had to break free to get to you
Once near, I caught your eye We shared a smile and a drink I told you jokes and made you laugh You said you liked a guy who didn’t make you think I took what I could get
It’s been years now since that day We’ve shared many laughs and tears Ups and downs, ins and outs Shared triumphs and fears Still, I try my best to not make you think
And on this day when we celebrate The coming together of you and I I can’t help but wonder What would have happened if I didn’t try But I know for sure the answer
