Dichotomy of Views

Image by John Hain from Pixabay
A division of parallel opinion,
Set up for mutual division,
One on both sides of the issue.
We have everything to cling to.

We believe what is true,
Our truths split at the fork.
A road we never shared.
Who are we to question?
We walk along, alone.

I see you there,
Do you see me?
Is that a fog around your eyes
Or is that a storm clouding mine?

Reach to me,
I stretch out my hand.
Fingers brush, ideas skim and graze
Points of view and angles skew.
What weird exchange is this?

I see you and your point of view.
Seeing you, see me too.
Coincidence or confidence,
As if by chance,
This dichotomy is now symphony
Something we both see,
A partnership and a dance.
