The spark from Sprinklers
Showers of stars
Falling down my fingers
Landing on the ground
To extinguish like the passing of millenia
For even as light triumphs
Darkness waits
For when the time light is extinguished
And Sparklers run out
Stars hitting the ground

I love the opening lines and the time analogy.

Oh that brevety of light is so sad.

The nature of sparklers I’m afraid.

I remember being surprised as a kid that the sparks didn’t hurt as they touched my skin. The laws of “life, the universe, and everything” say the light will never be extinguished. There will always be more sparklers/stars to shine.

I love the contrast of dark and light in your quadrille, Stew, and the different kinds of light in the ‘spark from Sprinklers’ and ‘Showers of stars’.

Thanks Kim. I think light works best in contrast.
