“Still time for you to change your mind. There’s a 2:30 showing of Batman. We’d have time to eat, maybe a drink or two,” said Juanita.
Maria laughed.
“Uh un counselor. You agreed to Bridges Fall and that’s what we’re seeing. You might surprise yourself and enjoy it,” she replied.
“I’ll enjoy the company,” said Juanita.
“Smooth,” said Maria.
“Wouldn’t you like to know.”
Maria looked at her confused for a minute then laughed loudly.
“You’re awful!”
They went and got their tickets arm in arm. Then they picked up some snacks, chocolate peanut butter cups, popcorn and a cola for Maria, strawberry licorice, popcorn and a lemon-lime soda for Juanita, and sat in their seats.
“Oh good, we made it before the previews,” said Maria.
“You like those huh?” asked Juanita.
“Oh sure. I like to know what’s coming up.”
Juanita put her arm around her shoulder.
“I’d like to kiss you.”
“I’d like that,” replied Maria.
Juanita leaned in and placed her lips on Maria’s. Maria leaned into the kiss, opening her mouth inviting her tongue to explore. The sound of a soft moan came from between their sealed lips. Maria’s tongue danced, moving with Juanita’s back and forth between their mouths. The lights went down and the movie started. They pulled back, stopping the kiss. They looked into each other’s eyes, Maria’s eyes sparkled while Juanita’s smoldered; the heat and light of the stars in their gaze.
They both turned to look at the movie. Maria rested her head on Juanita’s shoulder and Juanita caressed her shoulder. They sat and watched the beginning of the movie. Maria’s hand lightly rested on Juanita’s knee. About half way in, Maria leaned over to Juanita.
“This isn’t so bad is it?”
Juanita took Maria’s hand in hers.
“It could definitely be worse.”
She occasionally snuck looks over at Juanita and saw her concentrating on the movie. Maria smiled to herself; for someone who professed to not like romances she seemed pretty invested. She liked that she had given it a chance. It showed not only was she open minded but she was willing to put Maria’s wishes above her own at times.
The movie ended and everyone was heading towards the lobby. Juanita and Maria made their way down the stairs and to the lobby as well. Juanita took Maria’s hand in hers. Maria leaned into Juanita as they walked to the exit. She really enjoyed the movie. As they stood outside the theater Juanita took Maria’s face in her hand and lifted it and kissed her hard. Maria melted against her.
“What was that for?” asked Maria.
“Because you forced me to watch a god awful romantic movie and I enjoyed it,” replied Juanita.
“I told you.”
“And because you are beautiful and I want to make love to you.”
“Oh my.” Maria blushed.
