My Heart Sharpened & Silent

Sharpen my edges
With a sword of iron strong
And a heart gone dead

Left with a note on the midnight counter
Pain sharp in my chest cavity gaping
Wound where my heart used to beat

Pump red liquid beating
Sharps and flats, silent

The above poem is from a prompt from Quadrille – A 44 word poem that includes the selected word, which in this prompt was the word sharp. Enjoy!
