Just A Little Leap

Just a little leap
Two feet Up in the air
Move suddenly, a little scare
Place your Piece as in checkers
King me if you dare
I’ve left the ground from where I was
Last spot left behind
I land yet I’m somewhere new

This is for a dVerse prompt: Today, I want you to jumpstart your muse by infusing your poem with some form of the word jump. … Whatever you chose to write, just be sure your poem clocks in at exactly 44 words, and includes some literal form of the word jump.

Hope you enjoy! 😊
