Don’t protest my love
Let me love you true and real
Let not the word no, trip from your lips
To fall on my pleas
Remonstrations against me
Like darts thrown against my heart
Pierce and prick, bleed my feelings
Don’t protest, say yes

This is for a dVerse prompt: Write a poem of exactly 44 words including the word protest. Hope you enjoy!
