Hoot Goes the Owl

Ah the moonlight shines down
Hear the hoot of the owl
A lovely sound within the night
To some it does give fright
Not to me I am quite safe
To a mouse fright should cause
For it’s life could soon be a loss

A dVerse prompt: Give a hoot about the rules and write us a poem of exactly 44 words (not counting the title), including some semblance of the word hoot. Hope you enjoy!
