Ah the moonlight shines down
Hear the hoot of the owl
A lovely sound within the night
To some it does give fright
Not to me I am quite safe
To a mouse fright should cause
For it’s life could soon be a loss
A dVerse prompt: Give a hoot about the rules and write us a poem of exactly 44 words (not counting the title), including some semblance of the word hoot. Hope you enjoy!
Loved this Q, Stew. It gets its point across quite pithily.

Stuart, I love how you tied in the owl’s hoot with the calm of the night! It’s got this peaceful vibe, but also a hint of suspense. Great job on balancing that. 🌙🦉
Much love,
David

Thanks David. It was a balance I was hoping to achieve. For us the calm, for the mouse suspense.

Indeed the mouse has a lot to fear.

My takeaway: The key to a view (sound) is the viewer (listener.) Nice one, Stew.

Beauty in the eye of the beholder and such. Or fear in the ear of the hearer.
