Fireflies in Moonlight

I walk in the dark,
Through the symphony of crickets,
Searching for memories of you.
I knew you before our lips touched;
Confirmation of a soul’s desire.
Destiny’s lies come true.
I can’t see you now,
In my mind’s third eye,
Nor my skull’s two.
Tears fall down
Like snow in summer;
Rare and cold.
The crickets play on
Their song for neither me nor you
As fireflies dance in moonlight.
