Police headquarters, or as Maxx liked to refer to it hindquarters. His client, or rather the son of his client, sat in the chair opposite the police officer answering questions. Too many questions for Maxx’s liking. Too many answers too. There were three men stuffed into the room with him, his client, Mernon – business owner, Vim – Mernon’s lawyer, Samuel – Mernon’s son and Vim’s other client. There was also one woman, Constable Sonia, no relationship with Mernon.

“And so you were in the store alone?” asked the constable.

“Yes,” said Samuel

“And you said the robber flowed-”

“No he swam,” interrupted Samuel.

“And he swam out of the mirror?”

“… And the iridescent image swims through a mirror that flows back into itself and exits the store with the jewels and the briefcase. Stop the silly games constable. He’s told you a million times what happened.”

  1. *Laughing* On the one hand, Stew, this would make a great sci-fi story, and on the other hand, Samuel is well and truly knee-deep in it and his poor lawyer did the best he could by going max! True crime indeed.
