In A Blind Alley

Once in a lifetime,
Love will find you
And grab you by your chest
Shake you and demand your heart
Like a street robber in a dark alley.
I was young
So was she
We were mugged on the street
While sitting in our respective homes
Miles away
Connected by telephone
Images shared over the Internet;
Love grabbed us by the chest.
Once in a lifetime
Can become two or three
If you keep walking down the same old street

This is my second poem for the dVerse prompt: Now write a poem in the first person that begins with “Once in a lifetime”. Think of a similar three-word movement (anger/sun/love) and develop it in your poem.

This is my second poem, this one includes first person unlike the first one “Once In A Lifetime”. 😊
