The Burning of Morning’s Light

I didn’t want you to notice me
But to feel me on your skin
Your soul should have known me
Before we even met

You were my love of a lifetime
Lifetimes ago
The north star in an empty sky
A roadmap for when I had no direction

My soul cried out to yours
Like a hungry baby or a wolf howling
Longing for shelter from the lonely of nights
Or the burning of morning’s light

A pot of stew with the title A Taste of Stew written over it.
